Arrghh... a spring time cold is so not fun...

It's been nearly a week since my last post and my only excuse is that I "hab a code in by nose". I catch everything that comes along, germs are magnetically attracted to me or something.

I've had these snapshots on my hard drive for days and just now felt like getting them ready to post. As always, unless otherwise stated, my pics are merely cropped and arranged. I do not edit for anything else. What you see here is what you get in world. I use analu avataropt whiter windlight setting and that's all. I use a fairly high graphics setting with anti aliasing on but that's all. Please note you can get much bigger views of my pictures by going to my flickr page. (it does often take me a little time after I post on blogger to get the pictures up on flickr but it's not too long a delay)

This is just a springy pretty outfit I put together with pieces from Sn@tch plus various accessories. Sn@tch has been one of my favorite stores in SL now for a long time, simply because Ivey offers great value for the money, several colors in a pack of each item or outfit. She also makes things that I think she would wear herself and I find her clothing very wearable and fun. These two items, the top and skirt were not made to wear together but I think they go together quite nicely.

The top comes in a range of colors with LOLA appliers included and the ruffle as a separate attachment.  There are eight colors in total in the pack and they are called Annika. There's a lovely little silver lace detail on the bodice that I matched a bit with my jewelry choices.

My skirt is mesh and is just so charming with the little flower applique on front and back and the mixed denim/floral fabric look. This skirt comes with an optional belt which I didn't wear, and the pack includes 7 colors. This is the Rae skirt and I am wearing both items in peach.

The shoes I'm wearing with this are just the kind of shoes I like to wear in the summer time. I go bare foot around the house, especially in summer, so I like to have this type of style to slip on when I need to go get the mail or go to the store etc.

These are by Sax Shepherd Designs, I've mentioned this shop before. These are the Flirt Cross Strap Mules in Leather. I bought the whole pack of Leather Basics and they come with a hud to change the straps, the inner sole, the outer sole etc. These are made for the Slink Medium foot. I set mine to this creamy tan color which seemed like a nice option for spring and summer wear.

In this pic you can see the silver detail on the bodice I mentioned, and I'm wearing the absolutely delightful Cupcake jewelry set from Cae with this outfit. You have metal and gem change options with this set and I set mine to silver and also multi, meaning that the script automatically makes your gem choices multi so instead of all one color it's mixed. So cute.

I am a huge fan of Cae's jewelry and have several sets now. I believe this is the first one I bought and I still love it. Who doesn't love cupcakes!  The set comes with rings also but those are not worn. You can't see the earrings because of my hair but they are just as lovely and wearable as the bracelets and necklace.

My skin is the beautiful Ivy from Lara Hurley skins which I bought during Skin Fair. I am very partial to Lara Hurley's skins and have been for a long time now, I tend to rush to try on each new release and every single one always is gorgeous. I really loved Evon but I think I love Ivy even more. The fatpack comes with lipsticks, beauty marks, choice of eyebrows, cleavage layers and appliers for hands and feet. The appliers for breasts and booty are sold separately but are very reasonably priced and you get all tones at once which is great since I bought two different skin tones of this skin!

The hair I'm wearing is from Lelutka and I have to tell you I kept staring at it because the hair texture is just so pretty and shiny, like real hair! It also comes in small/medium/large for breast sizes and I'm pretty sure I'm wearing the L here and you can see it fits very nicely over my Mirages. The style is called New, and I'm wearing it in Bourneville from the Naturals pack. Hairbases are sold separately for Lelutka hair and I am just wearing one I have from Action Hair which I like very much with it. See below for that info.

The hip belt I'm wearing is made like those candy necklaces we used to get when we were kids. I believe they were offered at the Big Show or maybe the Azz show before the two merged. It's called Hip Candy and is by Geek. There are several varieties, at the time I think I bought all the ones there were as I love hip belts and I loved the idea of this. I think this is the Sugar Crush pack, it's been a few days since I took these shots and I didn't get to make a list as I usually do of what I was wearing. All of the varieties come with a resizer, in my case I have to resize down a bit and then move the belt itself up but that literally takes just a few moments.

My nail appliers which I tried to make sure and show since I like them so much, are by ZoZ. They are a former Designer Circle offering, and are from the Spring Silver 2014 set. I think I might have mentioned this set before. I'm definitely enjoying ZoZ's entry into the nail polish applier market as I've seen some great things. They offered nail polishes with Peeps on them for Easter!

As you can maybe tell I took more shots than I really needed, lol. I just enjoyed this outfit a lot, simple and cute and fresh for spring. I also made a new profile picture from one of the shots I took. This one HAS been retouched unlike all the other pictures on this post.

Skin Fair! - part 1 - The Sugar Garden Eun-Seo

Well, I ventured out to Skin Fair and promptly overloaded my brain with all the many different looks and creative expressions of this ephemeral thing we call beauty. It's three sims worth of goodness, my dears, and you can grab a large number of demos from the Skin Addiction group notices to save you some time. However if you're like me, that will just make things harder because there's so much good stuff there.

The link above will take you to the Skin Fair official web page where you can find a map and slurls to the event. It lasts from the 14th, yesterday, until the 30th.

As it says there, please DO strip down in terms of scripted objects etc. MODA, one of the sponsors of the event has offered a script free outfit including a mesh hair as a gift which you can grab in the notices of the group mentioned above or from a board at the event. I wore part of that outfit, the pants and shoes and hairbase, and an older hair of mine I could strip the script out of easily and had no problems navigating the fair and passing the script counters at the entrance to the event. I also used the built in ao that firestorm has and just dropped in a walk and a stand, and used that rather than my regular ao, so I didn't have to walk like a duck and still could be low script.

But now, let me show you the first skin I bought. In a sense this is new to me, since I have always felt that The Sugar Garden's skins were a little too doll like for my taste. But I really liked this offering and so here you go. I am wearing this in tone E. Please note that you do have to go to the main store and grab the appliers because they don't come with the skin. You do get tons of brow options, a tintable beauty mark layer, tintable freckles, two body types and busty or non busty options.

Her face is just so sweet, it's irresistible. I'm also a Kpop fan and the name Eun Seo rang bells with me. It made me wonder if the name might be after Kpop idols? Like Eunji from APink or Seohyun from Girl's Generation?  Just a wild thought. Anyway, she's precious and I love her. I know it's the style to show off the body with new skins but I'm just going to leave that to you going and trying it on yourself.

I went today and picked up the V2 of the Ghetto Booty which I'm wearing here, little bit  less junk in the trunk in this version, little bit less thickness in the thighs. It's made for a 0 body fat/0 belly size avi but I cheated a little with about 3 on the body fat slider and thought it still looked fine. I put it on  before I put the alpha layer on and the main differences I saw between it and the avatar body was curvier more realistic thighs and the same for the derriere.

I'm wearing clothing from Sn@tch. As  I mentioned to my great happiness, Sn@tch has begun making Ghetto  Booty applier clothing and these jeans are actually in the riot vendor. So if you get some friends together you could snag a whole pack of colors with the cuffs and the applier for the GB (or system layers) for around 50L

The top with included tango hud is also in a riot vendor with a bunch of colors available for a tiny price with enough people gathered. I really love the sweet texture collar on the top as well as the sculpted sleeves that ... like the sculpted pant cuffs make these items look finished. I cannot stress enough that I really wish more designers making applier inclusive clothing would not skip the little details like this. Small touches can have a big impact and make the outfit look finished properly.

The one problem I had with wearing these two pieces as a set is that there's no underpant applier for the GB so that the shirt  looks properly tucked in. It's no big deal and certainly can be worn like this with a little bit of tummy showing, I just mention in the interest of completeness.

The hair I'm wearing here is from Eater's Coma. It's Hair #23 in Chestnut and I can tell already it's going to be a firm favorite. I just love how it sits on the head and against the shoulders.

I'm wearing a hairbase with it from Illmatic, the smoothed baby hairs base in Chestnut that just so happens to match very well. You can't get these bases in singles, you have to buy the whole pack but I think it's so worth it to give that little extra touch.

My jewelry is from Izzie's. This is the Butterfly Jewelry set in Creme which is on offer at the Liaison Boutique. There are other colors available but I picked this creme color to pick up the browns and ivories in the rest of the outfit. It matches so well, there are even butterflies in the print on the jeans!

The set comes with earrings, bracelets, rings, and the necklace in three lengths. I'm wearing the medium length here.

I also just want to mention real quick that my nail polish is from elephante poses. The shop is having a sale on selected poses, cosmetics and nail appliers - half off! This is from the Cruel Summer set and I used the same polish on my toes as well.

Hopefully this picture shows you how pretty and delicate this jewelry set is and how nice these nail polish appliers are. I really love them both!

Incidentally all my poses for this post are from elephante as well, but I do want to mention that another pose shop is having a sale also, Exposeur, so lots of great poses on offer for cheap this weekend from both places.

I'm wearing Slink hands and feet of course, the casual set for my hands and the high feet. My shoes are by Hucci, the new Payson sandals.  Here's a detail pic so you can see how awesome these are.

Rainbows and Unicorns...

I'm sorry I haven't really posted for the most part of the last 7 days or so. That's not really like me. I've been sick and what I thought previously was the flu turns out to be... dun dun dun.. aspartame poisoning/allergy/reaction/ye gods this shit made me so sick I wanted to die.  I won't go into a lot of detail about it because a) reactions to aspartame such as is found in many artificial sweeteners and artificially sweetened items are widely varied, b) I don't want to get sued, and c) It really is up to each individual.

I will just say that for the better part of three weeks I have been gradually getting more ill, I'd think I was getting better, go back to the product that was making me sick and each time be a bit more ill. I thought it was this dreadful stomach flu going around but no... it's this other thing.

Here is just one of dozens of articles about the dangers and/or reactions/side effects insert word of your choice .. of aspartame. I am a recently diagnosed, as in not even quite three months ago, diabetic and was using the product in question as a substitute for my usual intake of sweet tea, lemonade etc. I am from the US South and I really kind of dote on my tea but I'd rather take my chances with sugar than go through the horrid stuff I've gone through recently.

It honestly was so bad I considered doing an sl picture of my avatar barfing but then I decided that was too gross.

So I'm settling for talking about Unicorns barfing rainbows. The below art is by MokonoLovesMochi on DeviantART.

I was going to dress up as a unicorn and get a rainbow prim to have coming out of my mouth but to be honest, I'm literally too tired to do it. My unicorn outfit is a former limited edition from QE that's no longer available and was cute as hell. It's already got a rainbow tail and such so it would fit right in. I just don't have the energy.

I did a little search on the whole trope/meme of barfing rainbows and evidently it started back in 2006 when a blogger talked about a visit to Little Tokyo and described packaging as looking like someone vomited rainbows all over it. Source.

Everyone seems to be gearing up for St. Patrick's Day and here's a little headshot of me sporting a bit of lime green in honor of all that green beer a lot of people will be drinking in a week's time.

I feel really guilty cause I haven't done a lot of anything so, here's also one shot of the total look and again I apologize for my lackage ... it couldn't be helped.

If It's Not One Thing - It's Another...

The last few days have made me feel as if I've been through the ringer. and that's why there's been no update til now. My laptop came with both the Intel integrated graphics AND an nvidia graphics card, and this computer was purchased specifically for using with second life. Unfortunately, the nvidia card doesn't seem to be working any more. I was hoping I could just replace the card, but that looks like to be more of a problem to do than I had hoped. I have a desktop that needs some repairs so I'm going to hopefully get that one repaired and use that for sl so as not to burn out the integrated graphics on my laptop and turn it into an expensive and ugly paperweight.

Meanwhile... well here's some fashiony stuff.

Here's me staring at you all from out my new eyes from Ikon.
I've been a fan of Ikon almost since he opened and I really like these Promise eyes which are mesh and come with a hud for adjusting size and position. These are the color called "Glass".

Couple shots of the full look. Please excuse the pixelation etc, since as I said I'm having problems with my comp at the moment and that's not helping my snapshots look good.

credits and detail shots after the jump.

Long Time No See

It's been ages since I did a blog post. Partly that's because of real life things - about which more below - and partly because I just haven't been in SL that much.

My best friend and more than friend hasn't been in SL much so I really hadn't had a lot of reason to be there. If you're reading this Paul, I miss you.

But, I'm coming back in world again.

I gave myself a make over, one of probably a million that will happen during the next three months.

Photo taken at my island area, I'm wearing Sn@tch sweater, Gawk trousers, Mood Jewelry - I think they are closed now, Catwa Hair, Hush skin, appliers, lola's mirage, luck inc's phat ass, slink's casual hands, pink fuel's pout lipsticks. - click the pic to see it correctly sized
