Stripes and Roses...

Do you ever just feel tired of everything? It's not depression, it's not loneliness, it's just... a feeling of tiredness. That's how I feel today.  I've been sick with stomach flu and this is exhausting.

Day before yesterday I hit up the Cosmopolitan Sale Room and this morning I went to the Pure Sale Room. Here's a little lookie loo.

I'm always on the look out for cute tops and mix and matchable items. I picked up two of these little stripey roses tops in different color ways. The top is from IAF at the Cosmo Room and was only 40L a pop. Everything at the Cosmopolitan Room is 70l or less so well worth a little visit. Here's the Cosmo blog if you want to take a look at the rest of what's on offer for this round.

I'm also using poses I picked up at the Cosmopolitan Room, the Urban Princess sets 1 and 2 by Eternal Dreams.

I got a little artistic with this first picture, hope you like it.

I'm wearing pants from Gawk with this top, the Black Tweed trousers that come with 2 different choices of cuffs and of course you can pick up appliers for Phat Azz separately. (Bear in mind I wear the Ghetto Booty and as I've said already a few different times, it's quite easy to set up appliers for Ghetty Booty from Phat Azz appliers.)

Here's some shots of the total look as they say. :)

I'm wearing an older skin and hair today, the skin was a previous Dressing Room Fusion offering from Al Vulo (gosh I love their skins) and it came with all appliers including for slink hands and feet. It's the Cara Icy Fairey skin.

The hair is from Analog Dog and is called Ais, it's available in the SALE area of Analog Dog/Point B for 75L per color set and I'm wearing the Sepia color from the Light Blondes set. Incidentally although this hair does come with full bright turned on, you can turn it off in texture settings quite easily and that's what I did. I also resized it a bit for my head.

I'm wearing a necklace and earrings by Ryca as well as my usual piercings and lashes etc. I found Ryca after seeing a picture with something from there and I actually tried to buy out the place because they have so many attractive items there. :)

And finally I want to call attention to my shoes. I know we've seen various versions of these shoes but I really think the way Mon Cheri did these heels is fabulous and funnily enough that's what the shoes are called - the Fabulous heels.

The hud that comes with these, not only controls skin tone but also the little foot tattoo as well as the shoe texture and colors of heel tip, heel and sole.  I bought the "Full Collection" pack and I'm pretty sure that the total pack was under 500L, with all these options to me that's a steal.

Sorry I don't have much else to say. Right now my stomach is doing some flippy flopping and growling from the flu I mentioned earlier. Please take care! I also want to thank the Old London Docks feed for adding my blog to their list. I'm so grateful!

Help? Second Life Blog Feeds?

I need to get on some blog feeds if possible but since I post about general sl as well as fashion, I'm not sure how to go about it. If you've got any suggestions please let me know?

Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out...

I don't have a lot to say.

I met this Dom not too long ago. He seemed pretty intelligent, different from the usual wannabe know nothing power trippin' types I seem to meet. In my experience most "Masters" or "Dominants"  I meet in SL have read 50 shades of grey or Dancer of Gor and think they know something about D/s.

Well anyway, we had a nice chat or two and then.. nothing. He was trying to run a school so I figured he was busy though I did feel also that he kind of got off on the adulation - real or feigned- that his supposed students gave to him and that he sensed that I wasn't necessarily prepared to give him the same.

Don't get me wrong, I know that all Doms get off on that to some extent. But I just felt there was something... off about it.

Fast forward to a week later... guy ims me out of a blue sky to basically find a sympathetic ear and air his grievances without more than a cursory inquiry about how I'm doing.

I was polite. But I wasn't excited... and the situation fizzled from there.  The thing is... I'm disappointed in this person. Not because I was interested in him in a personal way per se as more than friend but just... that I thought... or at  least hoped, that he was more than this.

Anyway, while this was happening I happened to be fiddling around with windlight settings and thinking about a new profile picture. Here's how some of the shots came out.

I will say this though, if your idea of a submissive is uncritical instantaneous attention after neglect - then please walk on by. Because I am not a doormat in any sense of the word.

Even so... I feel hurt. A lot.

This dress is by Graffitiwear, the hair is by RedMint, the jewelry is all by Ryca except for my piercings which are by Cute Poison. See previous fashion post for more detailed basics credits. I forget who made the chair. Pics taken on my land in SL.

Dancing on Starlight in Mandarin

I mentioned previously that I find it a little odd that more people don't use flexi to accentuate their mesh and to be honest, I just miss flexi altogether. The other night I had time and money to go out looking for dresses or gowns which had appliers but which also had a skirt that could be called a skirt in my view.

Maybe it's just because I have been in SL long enough to remember when flexi was a new and exciting designer option but I honestly do miss flexi and would love to see more of it in today's designs, whether mixed with mesh or not.

So, on my hunt to find some outfits/dres2es like this... I found VHD, aka Vanity House of Designs. I was pleased ... and excited. I bought several items and even went back to buy some more, plus joined the group.

This dress is called "Retro Starlight dress in Mandarin", it also comes in two other colors and you can buy them as a three pack. They also come with pumps, appliers for breast and booty and the price is very reasonable.

I made a composite of these two shots so hopefully you can see a little bit of the movement of the skirt. I didn't realize until I put it on that it has this lovely frothy white underskirt to it - and it looks great when dancing. The dress is made as a body suit with the skirt attached and it works beautifully.

You also get two versions of the skirt, one scripted with sit positions etc. For we applier needing ladies, it comes with a few different appliers including Phat Azz, Tango and Brazilian. I am actually wearing the Ghetto Booty V1 with this which it is easy to use phat azz appliers with a little work for ghetto booty.

The dress comes with shoes as I said but I ended up wearing my brand new Newell heels for Slink High mesh feet. I bought the fatpack and there are so many choices it takes TWO pages on the hud to cover them all. You can change pretty much any part of the shoe to whatever color you want. Amazing and I thought this was a perfect match for the dress.

Here's a closer shot of the shoes and also a little better look at that skirt.

Bear in mind that these shoes are made to work in tandem with the Slink High AvEnhance feet so you have to buy the feet at Slink and then the shoes at CandyDoll

Here's a little closer look to see that wow that is one daring bodice! And it also dips down low in the back with some sparkles spreading over your spine. I'm wearing items from Zuri that are from this week's Fifty5Thursday. Not sure how much longer they will be out.  They are the Coral Pearl and Gold pieces, necklace, bracelet and earrings sold separately but I think they make a nice match with the dress without being *too* matchy matchy.

I took a quick shot of the back of the dress so you could see what I mean, as well as the back of the hair. This hair is from Red Mint, it's the #18'14. It comes with the little heart hairpin and a hud that allows you to change the front wispy bits to your liking.

This is all taken on my patio. The house is by Tiki Tattoo.  My poses are from Label Motion.

Here's my rant... Please make appliers for boobs and booty and whatever else kthanx.

Friday is a big sale/event day and I hit up a bunch. With the aid of note cards, group chatter and my trusty Seraphim, I visited several places - stores from 50L Friday, Designer Warehouse, Room 69, Colors of Spring Event, The Fantasy Room, Genre etc.

Let me add a big fat Disclaimer here. I know it's impossible to make an applier for all things, certainly for some mesh items. I buy quite a few mesh skirts and jeans and wear them without my Booty for this reason. So I'm not knocking that.

BUT, I find it completely bewildering why more creators don't make appliers for their items, especially for the breasts. I realize the creator would have to buy the boobs first and maybe not everyone is crazy about mesh attachments or large boobs  or whatever. But I know two creators in SL who are going strong making applier included clothing who do not wear the boobs etc on their own avatars except when doing advertisements etc. If they can do it, well so can everyone else.

And they report that the bust clothing business is well... busting out all over. So, not only is it perplexing, it's downright ... silly to me.

(Pictures are unrelated to the rant - I'm just demonstrating that people buy stuff. More info about this look below. )

See Pic Bigger.

It's a simple equation,

"Le make the appliers = moar Customers"

"Moar Customers = Moar Money"

You can even charge extra for the appliers, that's what Gawk and Deetalez and some other places do.

so now you can make "Moar Money" Twice!

Same goes for booty appliers. And nail polish. Do you realize how many nail polish appliers I buy? Let me tell you, it's lots. You can make ze money.

So please please please make appliers when you make system layer aka texture clothing. Your linden wallet will thank you. Just ask Virtual Attire for example.

....I never got to finish this post which I started last night 3/1/2014 and frankly I've had a really bad day so I'm gonna leave it at that.

I decided to make a separate post about this outfit, cause really it deserves one.

"I look like a refugee from the 80's"

The title of this post is something I said to a friend as I was changing clothes. I had been lamenting how I feel that often system layer clothing in sl recently seems to be suffering under a delusion that a body suit is a dress. And also that there seems to be a general fear of flexi. In my opinion, flexi could really be used to accentuate mesh, especially in cases where a fit is trying to be made over an attachment like a booty.

So, when I got dressed, using a really nice body suit and leggings that I'd won in a midnight mania at Virtual Attire, I started layering on other things. I ended up wearing a belt, a shredded flexi skirt and a jacket.

Thus bringing up the comment from the title.

Here's a shot of me and my friend on my pier shortly before he showed me around some animation places. We ended up trying a ton of dances at There In Spirit, which was a new to me dance place. Had a nice time just chatting and trying animations.

I have a kind of a rant or an opinion about a few things since it's now Friday and the weekend brings with it a ton of sales and events to hit up. As I was running around at various places, I couldn't help but have this thought over and over. So I'll post on that separately. Do want to also offer a shout out to Seraphim SL which does yeoman service in terms of letting people in SL know about sales and events around the grid. I check Seraphim regularly and it saves me missing out on a lot of good buys as well as just missing out on seeing cool things.

When I finally get my layout worked out here, I'll be putting Seraphim on my blog roll for sure. (this was not a paid endorsement, lol)
